Remain mindful of all the sacrifices your family and friends are making to help make your day so special. Several of my bridesmaids were traveling from out of state. To accommodate each bridesmaid’s budget and the style of dress they would be most comfortable wearing, I asked each bridesmaid to choose their own “true red” colored dress. Each bridesmaid looked absolutely beautiful in their unique style AND it took so much off my plate not having to find one dress that each woman would be comfortable wearing. This worked for me personally because I was never set on any one bridesmaid dress!
If you need to accommodate out-of-town guests, call more than one hotel and ask for a complimentary room block. This will allow you to have different hotel options with various rates for your guests, and can help you to avoid signing a contract!
Some brides and grooms choose to hire a wedding planner or even a “day-of-coordinator”. We decided against both because our ceremony and reception locations had staff who helped us stay on track at each venue! Our photographer was wonderful and guided us every step of the way as well. If you feel like your venue may not have staff specifically to help you with lining up for a reception entrance, dances, dinner time, toasts, cake cutting, etc., consider a day-of-coordinator if a wedding planner is out of budget!
Take advantage of the countless wedding websites. They offer online discounts for save the dates, invites, reception décor, favors, and more!
Lastly, when things get stressful, stop and remember WHY you are doing this. Keep your partner in mind and cherish each moment of wedding planning with one another.
