We had dinner plans with some friends from out of town, so when I got home from work and went to change, Rodney told me my mom had called him to pick up a box of cupcakes. He asked me to look at them to make sure they were ok. I opened them, and inside were four cupcakes and a ring box with a diamond ring. I stared at the ring in shock and was speechless. He got down on one knee and proposed. When we arrived for dinner both our family and close friends were there to celebrate with us. The whole evening was truly such a surprise!
My biggest tip is do what you want. If you do not want
a cake, do not have a cake. If you want to do things in a
weird order, do it! We wanted to dance the night away,
so we didn’t stop the party for a bouquet toss or cake
cutting.
My other piece of advice is to include the groom in
planning. I was lucky and my husband did just as much
as me. It makes the experience of planning a wedding so
much fun if you do it with your future husband.

DEL CARMEN, MEXICO
Rodney and I love to travel, so it only made sense to get married in one of the prettiest places in the world! We did a catamaran ride with snorkeling for our bridal party before the dress rehearsal.
